STICKBULB | BOUGH

Before I joined the Stickbulb team, they had joinery that could accommodate 1,2 & 4 bulbs at a time. One of my main projects was to help develop a new 3-way joint, which followed the same modularity principles as the rest of products.

The idea of the ‘kink’ was to disrupt the linearity of having the lights be on the same plane and give some dynamism to the fixture.

Using solidworks and small-scale 3D prints, I played around with possible SKUs for this new fixture. Knowing the modular nature of Stickbulb’s designs, I looked at a breadth of options ranging from 1 joint, a couple, to large scale installations.

For the 6th installment of Collective Design [2018], Stickbulb exhibited a rendition of BOUGH with the theme "Fire and Ice". This concept revolved around utilizing reclaimed wood from remnants of Chicago's Pullman couch factory.
